DuboisLJ
I have a 2016 legacy 2.5 limited. As of 2021 I've replaced 3 batteries and about to put my 4th in. I did a drain check and on Fuse 9 under hood/main fuse box I get 0.6 amp drain then when I pull the fuse it drops to 0.06 amps. This feeds the Data Communication Module / DCM. How long should it take for the DCM to go into sleep mode? Has anyone changed out a DCM, how tough is it? Per the manual it looks like you have to pair the DCM to the car, can that be done by a DIY person? I don't use starlink or SOS or Info button on Telemetric do I absolutely need to pair the DCM? What have others identified with dead batteries.
gathermewool
I’ll have to check this out. I’m having a similar issue with my 14 Forester, except it doesn’t actually show a drain with my DMM hooked up in series overnight. A real head scratcher! At least with my FXT, the PCM etc seems to go to sleep within minutes, not hours Since replacing the OEM battery with a larger NAPA The Legend battery I’ve been having issues. Every week or so the battery will be at half or lower charge. I haven’t checked I. A while and a few days ago the battery was at 11.95VDC, but still starting the car like it was at 100%! A testament to the battery I think. Keep us updated on any other finding you come across! '15 FB25 Magnatec 0W-20 + FU filter (70,517 miles) RSB, Fr. chowser51
Do you have any accessories or mods hooked up? Like dash cam??radio stuff? Unplug all and start there. Also when not in use, do you keep the fob near the car?
gathermewool
Do you have any accessories or mods hooked up? Like dash cam??radio stuff? Unplug all and start there. Also when not in use, do you keep the fob near the car? None of those is my issue. I’m pretty battery savvy. If you’re talking to the OP, it sounds as if he’s found the issue and needs guidance on what to do about his finding. '15 FB25 Magnatec 0W-20 + FU filter (70,517 miles) RSB, Fr.
