Well the wife couldn't stand to ride in the WRX anymore, so she "made" me get a new car. Finally got around to snapping some pics.

I went with Toyo Proxes- they didn't have the 4's in the XT size- I like them but they're only for summer use- pretty squirrely in the colder weather.

nice. you forgot to debadge the "lawyer speak" from your roof rack rail. :)

too funny Andrew, I noticed that as well.

Car looks good, I really like the smoked front corners on the darker cars...Black and ABP....

for tires, I am running a winter studdless snow...Hankook IceBear W300, and for summer, I have 18" rims with dunlop direzza dz101.

For all seasons, I think it depends on the overall conditions of where you live. you can run either a 225-55-17 or 245-50-17 for your stock rims. That opens up your options a little bit.

can you take the stuff off the roof rails?? I started to and it didnt look like it was going to come off clean ...
if i remember it comes off in 2 layers, first the clear tape layer and you're left with the tex/black layer. I used a citrus solvent to remove the text layer.

Every time I see the black I wish I would have picked it over the red. But then I would probably wish I picked the red..

Either way I wish I had a tan interior.

Oh well,

Looks nice!

nah, red with a black interior is cool. The taupe interior has too many colors running around inside. Throw some darkish color wheels on it and you're set. :)

Yeah the front corners too ... What are good all-seasons in outback size that are good for replacements? I had yokohama AVS db S2 on my wrx and really liked them.... I'm not sure if they make them in 'SUV size' tho...

I went with the Pilot Sport A/S. Transforms the handling and works just fine in snow and ice. Somehow I don't think the latter is a problem for you in OC.

Three problems with the Pilot Sport A/S 1) $200 a pop 2) will rub the inner wheel well when the wheel is fully turned 3) will last 20K miles +/-.

groundhog,

PRO

-WAAAY faster and quicker (im at stage 2 plus uppipe)

-better tranny, though still not an STI 6-speed by any means

-smooth, quiet ride (sounds like stock w/ stage 2 and uppipe)

-ground clearance (more convenient)

-stealth factor

-big sunroof, racks for my surfboards

-silly, but shift knob is more comfortable

-WAY better stereo

-my wife will ride in it (she hated the wrx... too rough and loud)

CONS

-the handling obviously (I plan on getting Advan STs when the crappy RE92s die)

-Less headroom

-I don't like the dual climate control, but that preference

-Seats arent quite as supportive, but nice leather and heat

At the end of the day, I'd never trade back.... don't regret it at all.

LazyDog,

Its the factory option bumper guard ... didn't even know about it when i bought the car, but i like it.
