2008 Legacy speaker issues

Recommended Posts

I bought this car about a month ago then one day the driver rear speaker started to make some weird noises. Sounded like the speaker was blown so I removed it. Days later the driver front started to make noises too but before I could remove it all speakers went out. I have read online it could be a speaker wire grounding or shorting, the radio or the amp. I believe I do have an all because I see wires running to the bottom of my passenger seat. What is the best process to figure the issue out? Should I remove all door panels or go check the amp? Also the radio is working and has power should I still check fuses? Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

Thanks for reply. I went and tried to replace the left rear speaker first but no sound. Do I have to replace all 4 for the sound to work?

No No, I think you have some wiring issues here. What sound do you have? I had my left rear go out on my 08 due to water getting in the door or it grounded out and messed up the speaker. I did replace them all and it all was fine.

I just did my 06 LGT with all 4 doors, all was fine.

I am thinking that too. Right now I have no sound out of any speaker. It first started with the driver rear speaker going out. Then couple days later the driver front started to make noise and shortly after the passenger front and rear all went out. How do you find if a wire is shorted or grounded?
