'94 EJ22 4EAT Compatibility

I'm looking for a bit on information from someone who knows a little more than me about Subaru Trans.

 

Long story short, I have a 1994 EJ22 (from a Legacy) transplanted into my VW Kombi, I've previously been running this with the original VW 3 speed auto. Recently a reversed auto kit has become available and I'm looking to change this to a Subaru 4EAT, but the kit only fits Phase 2 autos (they said any with the spin on oil filter)

 

I'm trying to figure out if its possible to fit a Phase 2 Auto on to my '94 ej22, mainly will they physically bolt together? And furthermore what do I have to do to get them to work together. I've got the ECU from the Legacy in the van and connected up. If I take the TCU from wherever I get the auto from, can I connect these up and get the two to talk to one another? Any suggestions for which specific auto to take and/or the best way to do this would be greatly, greatly appreciated!
