Loss of power 2006 GTb Si, japan variant, 2l twin scroll turbo...

Recommended Posts

Hi there all

Not sure if I'm even typing into a valid forum, but I'm desperate, so I’ll try anyway... I have recently purchased a very tidy looking

2006 GT b Si Limited Edition. it’s the Japanese Market variant therefore it has the 2L EJ20 Boxer Engine with a ihi VF38 twin scroll turbo all going into a 5 speed auto Trans with Sport Gate and Paddle shifters at your fingertips.... I f'ing loved this car, it was beautifully sedate driving my parents back from the airport, super responsive in Sport Mode after dropping them off, and then it was, frankly a little frightening in Sport #, but frightening in a good way, a very good way.. (; This lasted for 5 days when it started to run a little rough then running on only 2 cylinders...

After some considerable ******* around (encountering a New but Dud coil) all coils and spark plugs have been replaced, and essentially the car now runs......

However it has lost all it’s get up and go... Have to drive it in S mode just to have it drivable around the city light etc... The turbo either isn't kicking in or isn't kicking in enough or when it should... and nothing like it was... Before the coils debacle it was my dream car from 2006... LOL (:

The reason it has been at a non-Subaru savey Mechanic is because it was fixed under warranty, and although the grease monkey owns a Subaru he reasons this model is a whole different ball game....

Please can you help me...? The fault code for the coils etc. cleared itself and it had no new fault codes when checked after the job... Before this Subaru I had a 2006 B~Sport, and it drove better than this Blah Blah Blah version does... It’s the limited edition Japanese market only model with bigger breaks, sway bars, Bilstein or similar suspension, double sun roof, full body kit, Macintosh Stereo, and the fabled Si~Cruize bollocks... With Intelligent Mode, Sport Mode, & Sport # Mode.... Which I may have mentioned, did I mention I F'ing love this car... PLease HeLP....
