05'2.5i Wagon no Trailer Wiring?

Does the 05' 2.5i wagon not have trailer wiring?

 

I have read through many posts about installing trailer hitches and thought that all of the wagons had trailer wiring but after getting my receiver hitch installed and pulling up the floor trim I cant find the plug I have seen in many other posts and videos, am I missing something?

I came across these while searching, it seems like you'll need the oem subaru wiring harness (part# L1010SS030) or something similar, I think some people mention etrailers..

Yeah, the harness itself isn't there, but the socket to plug it into should be, basically at the left rear corner of the cargo area. As the above links show, it is tucked up behind the plastic side paneling and may be a little tricky to find.

 

I installed the harness from etrailer some 11 years ago.... still works great:

The Subaru part number apexi provided is still available as well. Either one installs the same, installation is pretty easy.

Found the connector this morning, it was a little further back than I expected it to be.
