Rough idle and stop when I first start the engine in the morning

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

I have 05' Legacy 2.0 4AT.

As I mentioned in the subject. When I first start the engine it's quickly working but somehow if I try to change gear to D it stops (sometimes it's not but when I press the gas pedal, it again stops or I need to press to the end). I need to wait until the engine gets warmed. During wait time rpm idling 400-500 and it shakes or stalling etc. After the car getting warm then it does not do anything, working fine.

I use that car 5000 miles like this.

1-2 week ago;

- I received P0032 and P0037 o2 sensor errors. I deleted but P0032 still remains and pops up again quickly.

-Shakes and hesitation arising and it stalls when its cold outside. When engine is getting warm it runs fine.

I wonder if all your symptoms are related to p0032 and p0037, those seem to be codes for the oxygen sensors. I wonder if the wiring going to your sensors is damaged like in the thread below.

  • 4 weeks later...

You have a reoccurring o2 heater code. The only thing people can suggest is to trace wiring for any damage and if nothing is found wrong there, replace the sensor since the internal heater may be shorted out. The o2 heating up quickly is vital to the engine running when cold.
