2006 Legacy GT, no crank, full battery, no blown fuses

Recommended Posts

We are trying to get this car back on the road and we keep running into issues. Started fine, and then this afternoon, while attempting to start, I saw smoke coming out from under the hood (hood was open), it dissipated before I could take a look, but there was no burnt smell, so it very well could have been burning something off (see end re dumping brake fluid in the engine bay)

However back to the issue.

battery at 100%, everything works, windows, locks, all power accessories, I've got a meter on the battery, shows 100% charged, I checked all fuses under the hood and inside the car.

So are there fusable links in other locations? (I have locked and unlocked with the remote, just to see. And I did have the battery disconnected, but it did start one time after reconnecting the battery, but has yet to turn over (no clicking, no sound, silence). The Starter is not engaging.

Are the starter relays next to the fuse panel apt to going out?

One thing that is making me wonder is my son dropped a bottle of brake fluid ( I know very corrosive) down near the brake fluid reservoir, I tried to clean it up the best I could, but what is down on the drivers side, that could have been destroyed that I should look at?

I'm new too Subaru but not new to cars, so basic Subaru specific suggestions would be appreciated.

Probably because you were searching and clicked on a result that had a german language setting. (It's happened to a number of us)

Try going to the lower right corner of the screen and switch back to English. If you can't, then you need to clear all the cookies for this site and then return. That should reset it as well.
