My Legacy GT has a 2 step lunch built into the Cobb AP and it doesn't backfire or 'pop'. My other car has a MSD 2 step it doesn't backfire either. Even if you're 3.6R did 'pop' it would be muffled out by the cat, resonator and mufflers. I think the tune needs to be rich and you need have little to no exhaust for the backfire and flames. I think many owners with popping/flaming 2 steps are purposely just trying to show off, like the diesel truck owner who tune their vehicle to run rich so they billow black smoke.
