Hello,

I am new to this forum. So I don't know if I am in the right spot.

I am new to tuning and have some questions. Was wondering if anyone sees any problems that are concerning or if there is false/ghost knock in the data logs I have attached.

I have a 2010 LGT 60k miles, Stage 2 Invidia high-flow catted J pipe and K&N air filter. I installed the J Pipe myself and have an off shelf cobb stage 2 ACN 91 map from a V3 Cobb Accessport.

I know knock is related to many things. I recently changed the sparks plugs, have been running cleaner gas (shell v-power), had a smoke test and there was no vacuum leaks, cleaned the MAF. I've reset the ECU abut 4 times in this process.

My DAM drops once I touch even 2-3 lbs of boost, and I get knock at that point too. I've attached some data logs.

Obviously a pro tune would be ideal but the closest tune shop is backed up from the next 2 weeks for the Dyno. I was wondering if a remote e tune would suffice.

I live in San Diego and the closest tune shops for Subarus are an hour away.

Also, wondering if anyone knows any local tuners in San Diego that they would recommend. Ive been talking to Delicious Tuning, but they are backed up for weeks.

I know Knock is detonation and am afraid to boost up in my car. So for now I am taking it easy and trying not to boost hard/ knock.

Any feedback helps! Thank you!

What gear where you in on the datalog 19? FYI you can log this parameter in the future to help with reading the logs correctly. Throttle input can cause knock in higher gears even with a tune.

It looks like you are probably not getting enough fuel on boost, timing may also be too advanced. Have you tried an octane booster, I know they aren't very effective but it may help. It really just looks like you need to get tuned, an etune would be much safer than running that tune. You might also try the low wastegate map to try to take some boost out.

If you are going to wait for a dyno tune maybe the shop can send you a base map to keep you going safely until tuning day. It never hurts to ask, most tuners have one on hand or can at least make one up fairly easily.

I did run the LWG addition with the cobb off the shelf map, didn't make much difference.

What octane booster do you recommend?

And I'm currently looking for a good e tune. Im thinking of contacting IAG Performance and utilizing JR to do the remote tune. What do you think? Any etuner you recommend?

XRT extreme racing tuner, brentuning, cryotuning. All have experience with the 5th gen and have some happy customers on here. From a tuners perspective though you will get more from a dyno tune, the etune is going to be more conservative than if the tuner can actually feel out the car for themselves.

Okay. Ill check them out. Wont hurt to have an e tune before the dyno. Thank you. Ill post a data log once I get the etune.

Just be forewarned an etune is just as much as a dyno tune or within spitting distance. This is why I would be looking to get a base map from whoever is doing the dyno tune. I wouldn't pay for an etune just to get by for a couple weeks, unless you have money to just throw away. I might even look for ways to run the car with no boost until tuning day.
