Front Grille Bracket Removal

Recommended Posts

Greetings all!

Has anyone removed the front grille bracket?

It's the black plastic piece fitted to the back of the grille.

Seems to me that it is cosmetic and removing it would improve airflow.

What are your thoughts?

My thoughts: It's there for a purpose. Removing it would probably impair airflow and/or increase aerodynamic drag at highway speeds. Subaru engineers know more about their cooling system design and testing than we do.

I thought about removing it as well, but figure more dirt and debris can enter the engine bay..
