Ken2004llbean
Have 2004 Outback LL Bean. When I first turn on ignition or start the car, factory sound system with 6-disc CD changer (not Macintosh system) makes a mechanical noise like it is trying to eject a CD. If I push the button to eject a CD, nothing happens, and if I push the button to load a CD, nothing happens. The noise stops after several seconds, but it's annoying. Not sure how to proceed. AWDFTW
My 2002 Bean did that when I got it. There was a cd jammed in it. Had to take the whole thing out.
Ken2004llbean
When you removed the unit from the dash, could you see the jammed CD? How exactly did you remove it?
AWDFTW
Removed entire headunit assembly. Removed 6 cd changer from that. Opened it up via a few screws. Saw jammed cd. Remembered I didn't care about a nonresponsive 6 cd changer. Replaced with a cubby from a base mode.
Ken2004llbean
What exactly is a "cubby from a base mode"? I'm not familiar with audiophile technical terms.
