Custom Trendz Inc.
They dont turn off when the car is on, they used to turn off when the parking brake was engaged. I even unplugged the DRL white plug and they still always stay on, unless the key is in the off position. What gives? Happened after I put my new shortblock in over 2 years ago. ehsnils
Was it when park brake was engaged or the gear selector put in park? Not clear if it's an AT or MT, but I haven't seen the case of the headlights turn off when engaging the park brake on the Subies and the behavior you describe that you have now is normal. However it may be a market specific difference since I have only looked deeper into the Euro variants.
outahere
With the engine running, the DRLs should turn off when the parking brake is engaged, but the headlights should stay on.
Infosecdad
Are they turned on by the left stalk? Mine are always on because I want them to be. I've disabled DRL, but keep the headlights on via the switch on the stalk. If you can rotate the switch on the stalk and they don't turn off, I would go find a replacement switch on ebay or local salvage yard.
