Hellzer
Hello All, CAR: 2005 Subaru Legacy Wagon BP5 ej202. I am having a problem with the fault code P0032. Regarding front oxygen sensor. initially i replaced this sensor (cheap ebay) and fault remained on but car ran ok, so i left it like this Then car ran rough. I purchased second hand tested oxygen sensor and on installing it found that the sensor had melted on the exhaust. I felt good cause this surely was causing car to run rough. After i had completed the install of the new second hand (Denso) oxygen sensor the car still runs rough and fault code P0032 remains on. I think the melted oxygen sensor shorted and damaged something. I tried to check for voltage at the connector to the sensor (turned car on and checked) but found only small voltages (3mV) on three of the four pins Im hoping the ECM isnt damaged. Maybe a fuse or Relay not allowing the power to the heater ciruit of the sensor? Or should it not power the sensor if car already in Fault mode? Ill try and add some photos of the ECM and Fuse Box or anything else helpful Thanks
Max Capacity
http://people.csail.mit.edu/ilh/vacation/ Sounds like you know how to use a volt meter, may be the service manual will be some help. I hope that will work with your car. Have you reset the ECU ? 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). Hellzer
Thanks for your comments. I found the sbf5 was blown so I picked up a new fuse. Installed the new fuse and reset the ecu. Engine light came back on one minute after starting. I tested voltage to the oxygen sensor at the connector and only got 9.8v. Also check my sensor and all connections reading open circuit. Suspect my second hand sensor is bad. And I have voltage drop somewhere. Guess the heater element wont get hot enough only operating on 9v. Think I'll take the second hand sensor back (argue that its faulty) and buy a new Denso one. Then see what happens. Hellzer
I also forgot to mention. Thanks for your manuals. However these dont match my car. There's no 2l on there under the 05. I would love the service manual that was for my car but I cant find it. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
