ssbtech
Ok, so I've been dealing with a bit of a rough idle and occasional stalling the last few days. Had a couple of misfires, and logging knock sum today driving around town it climbed to 18 after only driving for about 15 minutes. Then it threw the P0340 code. From other posts on the internet, I've read that dirty power from the alternator could be the culprit. I've got 200,000km on the alternator. What say the Legacygt.com hive mind? Failing alternator causing noise in the computer system giving me those symptoms?
relative4
It would be good to know what kind of car you have, but I'm going to assume you have a 2005-2009 Legacy GT. Given that, just replace the passenger cam sensor. It's a high failure part due to heat from the turbocharger.
ssbtech
Ordered the sensor Friday, it was here Monday. Installed it last night. Problem solved
