NVM, got it working.

JoeSkye
If it looks like that, I'll buy one. But it won't. They tease us with awesome renderings then build something that looks like a Prius.
Tronic
It could easily be made to look like that, its not that far off from my 1990 SW20 MR2 Turbo. I'm still not interested in electric or even a hybrid when you can get a 2.4litre engine making 350Hp from the likes of Ford that already in production. Also there is a snowballs chance in hell of it having a 6MT so I will be sticking to mine with the 5MT and the 2L Turbo.
Sarang
It wouldn't make any sense for them to produce this - It would compete with both the WRX and the BRZ. I'll believe it when I see it.
SubieDriver
From the article, it sounds like it would replace the BRZ.

Without it being a hybrid (and likely a plug in at that) this can’t even be made. Fuel effiency standards worldwide demand it. That said, go drive an electric car some time. A even a Nissan leaf is more fun to drive in the city than my ~300whp Legacy.
Brady
They're talking about this as a 2021 model. No chance. They'd have at least played this as a concept at some auto show long before now as a 2021 model is effectively 21 months to production at this point. This is just a rumor rag. whitetiger
A bad rumor rag to boot. Dropped to hype up the fan boys. Just build an 818c. ;-)
SubieDriver
It may be a bad rumor mag, but they know what kind of rumors we like. It keeps us distracted for a while until the reality sets in that it'll likely never be made.
Tronic
From the article, it sounds like it would replace the BRZ. Yes totally different car to the BRZ, the engine is behind you, not in the front. Hard to tell from this design however the bonnet scoop would indicate the 1.6L was in the front so the electric would drive the rear wheels. Unfortunately it means its even less of an MR2 than the third generation MRS which was a total copout. Power way up on the BRZ, it only had like 144kW which was why I was never interested in one.
