Carrier bearing

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I'm a noobie so this might be a dumb question... My carrier bearing needs replacement and I was wondering if I could replace is separately or if I will need a replacement driveshaft. I have an 01 GT wagon and my uncle has an 03 outback sitting in his yard so I was going to try and take the carrier bearing out of that if possible. Any help is greatly appreciated

Thank you

Different propeller shafts, the Outback's is taller.

OEM shaft is the best option.

If you have a local driveshaft shop, they may be able to make a one piece shaft if you give them your old one to copy.

This thread will have a link to a couple places that may help.
