Wonder if there is any way to quantify what sort of increased flow reaches the TMIC with this? I’m all about function over fashion but this thing is just so dead sexy I think I may have to toss the function part out the window :)

First off, thanks Madrig for building us some fantastic products!

I purchased the prototype scoop with the agreement to provide pictures and feedback, so here it is.

I love it.

It looks amazing, I really like the subtle lip that increases the mouth size without looking like I want to drag race at every light.

The first shots are different angles for comparison to the stock scoop.

The next set are to show off the opening and more aggressive lip.

I like that you can see it from the drivers seat now.

Eval:

Quality is top notch, as others have previously mentioned, the quality of the work is excellent. The studs fit in the holes in the hood perfectly. I put some blue thread locker on them when installing as I didn't want the nuts to walk off and I can't check on them because they are under the hood insulator panel.

After playing with it for a bit, there are two points that I would recommend adjusting.

The first is the gap in the upper back of the scoop.

You can see how narrow the stock scoop is in the upper back, a couple of shims and fins help it seat securely and grip the hood. The carbon scoop has a much larger gap and doesn't grip the hood as well. This leads to flex and vibration if left alone. I solved it for myself by putting a bead of windshield sealant on the lip of the hood where it meets that upper back part of the scoop.

The second is that there is a small (3-4mm) gap in the back of the scoop where it doesn't fit completely flush with the hood.

Overall, I love this scoop. It's an amazing addition for our older cars that helps modernize and personalize them. Thanks Madrig!

That looks good. You definitely get a sense of how much more aggressive the lip is when it's actually on the car.

I received a non-carbon one from Madrig, I'll try to slap it on tonight and post some pictures as well.

That’s what I am waiting to see. I love the Carbon but want the paintgrade finish.

this were i struggle ! i need to create a piece that will fit inside and grab on the hood flange .

the oem is plastic so they can cast any thickness at different place .

more work for me

I finally managed to test fit the non-carbon hood scoop. Unfortunately I won't be able to get this painted and installed until next spring but wanted to post some initial pics for Madrig and any others interested. I don't have much more to add then what Infosecdad has already posted as well.

Overall, quality is great but the back of hood scoop could grab the hood a bit better and currently leaves a slight gap that could make it prone to vibrating when driving at higher speeds. If I were to push down on the scoop to how it should be gripping with the hood, it appears way more fit/flush/OEM then in the pictures. I'll have the body shop see what they can do to keep the back of the scoop hunkered down once it's painted.
