Legacy Owner
Dashboard lights are good. I put the key in and turn. Dashboard lights are gone and car did not start. For the next 5 minutes or so, no lights anywhere, no radio, no nothing. Come back a few minutes later and the lights are normal and the car starts right up. First time this happened was a month ago. Jumping did not help. I wiggled fuses which all appeared to be fine, wiggled the battery terminals. A few minutes later, the car started. Since the fuses were fine and there was no corrosion, I do not think wiggling things had anything to do with it. Had battery tested and it is fine. No corrosion on battery terminals. Dismissed it as a one time event. Today I have the same issue. Is this a bad ignition switch?
Legacy Owner
OK. Terminals looked good from above but I decided to take them off and examine. They were rusted on the inside. I visited my local parts store. Dang those new terminals look good on my 15 year old Subaru. Hopefully, this will solve the problem.
Cincy05LGT
Happened to me once when the terminal clamps weren't on tight.
