ssulb Posted May 1, 2018 Share Posted May 1, 2018 The DRL bulbs in these cars are just the high-beam bulb that is being powered by a lower voltage so they can be dimmer than normal high beam operation. The lower voltage is achieved by a resistor that steps down the voltage to about half I believe. Most likely when the circuit is just powering the LED strip it has no problem (might flicker a bit because of the lower voltage). When you plug in the bulb along with the LED strip, there isn't enough power the LEDs and they simply don't turn on because of the lower voltage on that circuit. Try to hook up the LEDs somewhere before the resistor that limits power to the DRLs. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
