2007 Legacy 3.0r - 1st generation radar cruise control (not eyesight!)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm interested in buying this 2007 legacy 3.0r, and it comes with radar guided cruise control. It's the first I've seen with radar, not the stereo camera's which they switched to in 2008

Does anyone have experience with this version? Is it reliable?

Thanks in advance

I can't find any info on the Legacy 3.0Rs including any type of Adaptive Cruise Control in the US market.

Very curious about this. My '07 G35 has radar cruise control, so it was definitely a thing back 11 years ago.

I just bought the car 2nd hand in NZ (Japan import). I'm not sure how it compares to the eyesight models (I test drove some JDM (Japanese domestic model) eyesight models but not thoroughly). It would come as an option as not many 07's from Japan have this.

So far I'm very impressed, it's able to hold a lock on the car in front about 80m away, then in start stop traffic it's brilliant. Only in very heavy rain will it turn itself off. I'm thinking it'll work better in the dark than the stereo camera. No idea where the radar is but I haven't had a good look.

Does anyone know of any JDM owners on here that have managed to translate the stock Navi or toucschreen text to English?
