iiif87
Yesterday I decided to give the hogzaust a try to see if I liked the sound. I was lazy to jack up the car but I was able to remove the rusted bolts. My exhaust is a bit rusted (not too much), but I did not see a gasket between the muffler and the pipe, maybe it was stuck to one of the sides, there was some carbon build up around the flange, and some of it came out, I did not bother to clean it of the exhaust. I put the washers in and new bolts, everything is fine, the car sounds cool but I can feel some vibrations in the bottom of the car, which i think is normal. My question is, I was thinking about the gasket, since I did not see it because of the rust, would the gasket break into pieces and go into the exhaust? would it damage anything? sorry I know it is an amateur mod, but just curios if someone had the same situation as me. cseagle08
The factory gasket is more a gooey kind of thing right there. It won't hurt anything that far down the exhaust tract.

The Yeti71
Yep. When I did the hogzaust, the gaskets literally crumbled to nothing. No danger if it hurting anything, so drive on!
