Suggestions on new shocks,struts, and springs.

Its time to replace my worn suspention and would like a little bit of a preformance upgrade from stock. This is my daily driver with ~145k so I'm not willing to dump a lot of money into it nor do I want to sacrifice comfort. I have read good things about doing a Kyb Tein H-Tech set up and might do that, but wanted to ask for other suggestiins as well.

Don't want to spend much more than $500 since its a high mileage vehicle.
Then you may need to satisfy yourself with replacing what's worn, rather than upgrading. So let's start with that - what's worn out?

I just replace my rears for $200 and planning on the fronts on my next savings for another $250 and those are new aftermarket parts. Surely the OEM are more higher price.

Replacing with Monro stuff or cheap will always work... Ride better than crappy coil overs...

But I'd like Tein basis coil overs for sub 500... probably will want new mounts, and ride will be mediocre I'm sure...

Shop around for deals. I bought a used set Tein H-tecs springs for 100bux. For strut and springs, I went with KYB excel g. They are supposed to be slightly stiffer and valved better than OEM to account for old springs. All new was around 400 bux including strut mounts....

I replaced my fronts strut assemblies with the same brand off ebay. Like $165 total and they ride the same as OEM and same height.

I just did the Tein FlexZ coilovers and they are awesome. Stiffer than stock but thats what is to be expected from aftermarket performance suspension. I never realized how horrible the body roll and lift, dive was untill i put these on. It rides great, sits flat through turns and braking etc. For 750 shipped im more than pleased!!

The ride is good. It's my DD. It's firmer than stock, keeps body motions in check. However, being in New England, potholes suck a little more because of the firmer suspension. The car is dropped approximately an 1 and 1/4 inches, and it sits level.

No sh#t... you're local! LOL, yeah dude, before I replaced my suspension I bent a lip on one of my rims! Bloody pothole on Rt.3 in Kingston!

Oh yeah! Here in Montreal you cannot drive your car on a Straight Path, but if you do, it means that your drunk!!! It is a Crater here nowhere to go just hit the Road..

If you have FB, go into the market place, search Legacy GT, you should find a guy in CT selling a set of Tein springs on stock struts for 150 obo. Grab em up...
