How to get rid of smell

Okay I took my dogs to the park on Saturday .. I am not sure, but I think my golden might have step in some poo ... anyway, I can't see it anywhere in the car. I cleaned the carpets and wiped down my seats in the back and I still have this odorific smell going on. What can I do to eliminate the odor? Is there a product I can get at checker/autozone to get rid of this fowl odor??? HELP! Thx!

Dogs do not belong in your car. Put them in your wife's RAV4- she doesn't take care of it anyway, so why mess your Outback XT up?

The only reason why I confused the two, is that my dog had stepped in some poo prior to getting into my car. I checked her paws, but the next day the smell was there. So I just put the two together. My ABS light has been on for about 2 weeks now, it came on after my trip home for a week. So my car was in the garage for a week while the little bastards made a home in my poor car. The car is getting fixed right now, they are going to fix the wires (Not replace) and it isn't covered under warranty either. They found a nest under one of the rear seats. I have no clue how they made it up there, time to really clean my garage today when I get home. This so pisses me off, this is going to cost my apx. 300 bucks.

Thanks .. yeah, I have my car back, smell is still somewhat there .. so hopefully it goes away in a few days. If not, I am tearing the back seats out to clean more. I have a cat, but she is an indoor cat. I should just stick her in the garage over night :) heh.

Animal damage blows, especially when they croak in there to. Last spring squirrels made a nest up in the engine compartment of my wifes Jeep Grand Cherokee, right between the inner fender and the brake master cylinder. She pulled in one night and said the brake light was on. I popped the hood and saw the nest. The mother squirrel wasn't in there, but the nest had three babies in it, eyes still shut. Those baby squirrels went from Hillsborough to Livingston NJ and back probably two round trips, 30 minutes each way on route 78 @ 75mph+. They didn't seem to care though, they were fine. Looked like the momma would take off as soon as my wife started the truck to warm it up, then would run back in when my wife came home for the night. I would have just chucked the babies but my 6 year old girl got really upset, so I had to make a nice little place for them so the momma could come get them. Turned out they ate through the damn brake fluid level sensor wiring, and a bunch of the inside hood liner insulation and the firewall insulation to. The replacement insulation from Chrysler only set me back about 75 bucks though, and I was able to just put a new connector on the sensor line.

Update:

Well the body shop still has my car, they are waiting on some a pillar trim pieces ... they still haven't found the mouse .. and there is no smell in my car, but it gets interesting

Friday I went down there to put on my new rims and get the stockers ready to be shipped to a guy in Colorado the next day. While I was puting on the last rim, I couldn't get it on. It turns out the bolt pattern was wrong, the rims are suppose to be 5x100 and 5x114.3, but all the holes look like 5x114.3. So I am like ***** (New rim should be here Wednesday), so since I had to get the stockers shipped I put my spare tire on. You will never guess what I found under the spare tire .... yup .... the DEAD MOUSE!!!!!! Talk about both bad and good luck at the same time! So the guys at the body shop took pictures of the little bastard so my insurance comp should be happy I should get my car back today I think, but I won't be able to drive her around until after Wednesday .... booo

Summary: Put new rims on, rim doesn't fit, went to put on spare tire and found dead mouse under spare.

Good thing you found the mouse...

BTW, how many lug holes did your wheels have? 9 or 10?

Not all multi-fit wheels are 5x100/5x114 with ten holes, some are 4-lug vs. 5 lug... and would have only 9 holes, rather than 10., just FYI.

It makes no sense to have a dual-lug pattern, with both patterns being the same, unless the designer was stupid. Otherwise why weaken the wheels by drilling so much material out of the hubs?
