OCDetails
Sweet! I've been waiting for him to put these up on the site. Check out the new Covercraft UVS100 window heat shields on PAC! You might remember that we were talking about these earlier this spring. I had a Covercraft UVS100 on my last car and I loved it. I've been needing to get one on this car, but you know how it is the first year you have a car. Too many other little expenses to justify another 50 bucks on a sun shade. So I put it off. I've tested others that have worked pretty well, but I have definitely been looking forward to getting a UVS100 back in the car to see how it compares. I left Dwayne a message today and told him to put one aside for me. I've got a bonus check coming and the first slice is coming out for this shade. I'll post pics and reviews as soon as I get it. I want to compare it side by side with another shade I'm using currently. http://store1.yimg.com/I/premiumautocare_1870_1965250 The thing I love about these shades is that they block as much light as you can possibly block coming in from the windshield. If your windows are tinted then this makes a very effective theft deterrent. It's hard to window shop when you can't see in the car. Usually it is only the light coming in from the windshield that gives people a peek. I love being able to stop the window shoppers. It also keeps the inside cool. UV rays from the windshield are going to fade and dry out your leather and dash. You tint your windows to protect things from UV rays, so why not protect from the light coming in through the front too? It is just a great shade that I am pleased to buy again. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . forestir
Cool (pun). Are they cut to exactly fit? I kept my old twist/fold shades from previous car and the size is waaay different. Subies have small windshields. Also, is there a way to get a shade that is dark, but yet is as reflective (e.g. black chrome)? The reason I ask is that sometimes I park the car, then decide to take a picture, but the darned shade looks silly... if it were black, it would just look like the rest of the tinted windows. Also, will the edges cut or scratch the dashboard? I've had that happen with cardboard shades. Doh.
OCDetails
That is one of the nice things about these. They are all custom made to fit exactly in the car it is made for. When you order a sun shade for a 2005 Legacy then the one you get is custom fit to go inside a 2005 Legacy. Not some other car with similar dimensions, but one made especially for your car. It's like their car covers. Covercraft knows all about protection and how a custom fit is necessary for the best protection. The edges are wrapped in felt and won't scratch anything. There may be card board inside somewhere, but everything else is soft and lined in felt other than the reflective side. They don't make black either. What you see is pretty much what you get. Silver is best at deflecting the heat, so that is what they make it out of. I would suggest taking it out if you are going to photograph your car. Or just leave it in and photoshop it later. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . OCDetails
This is why I can't afford to modify my cars. All my money goes into cleaning products. _________________________________________ “Cleanliness becomes more important as godliness becomes more unlikely.” O C D E T A I L S . Bicster
Damn it all, I just saw this product on PAC's website, and searched here for a reason not to buy one. Added to cart.
