Any websites with kill stories?

Basically, no. Everybody's afraid to allow such discussion (forget freedom of speech in this day and age) because they might get sued by some overzealous douchebag if they could be remotely construed as "supporting or encouraging street racing".

Let's hear a collective "duuuuhhhhhh" for America. I'll bet if there was such a site you'd be prohibited from linking to it "just in case". Then they'd figure out how to cover that under the DMCA :D

Not criticizing the forums mods here, but I have to admit I miss those kill stories. Everytime there's what reads like it's going to be a kill story, I perk up on my chair and read eagerly. That's one aspect of our Legacy that I miss.

Yup all the LS1 forums I was/am a member of had specific kill story forums. I for one enjoyed reading them. I'd say there would be a landslide of more members being pro than anti kill story section. Hey you know what the main topics are before you enter so if these topics are of no interest than stay out. Just like the NA section is of no interest to me (no offense) so i never visit. I think there were some legal issues Tide was confronted with in the past and he wants to avoid it. He has the final say and this site still has a ton of other great qualities anyway.

Well as I said, I got complaints daily on them. I think its easy to sit back and see nothing wrong with kill stories in general, and miss facts that some were outrageously stupid, dangerous and caused many flame wars. And yes, I have been subpeona'd for member activity on a previous forum I ran, wasn't really fun or cheap.. but mostly they were removed to settle down the flames and complaints.

You can not be ubpeona'd for being a mod on a site that allows members to write stories, I believe you were, but I also think that was an abuse of the law. You may not have free speech in here, but you do have it in the real world, leading me to believe that something was up.

As far as people complaining , I think a simple poll would be good enough, there are people in this thread that are complaining that you don't have any. So complaining alone seems to be a weird reason to ban them, I think the numbers should be taken into account.

Except that I was subpeona'd... and disposed over such things. Whether or not you think abuse of the law is simply your opinion. I was still the one who had to hire a lawyer and spend the time sweating while being video taped and grilled by high level attorneys. It was not fun.

We will not be hosting kill stories.

No, you don't have freedom of speech here and if you want the specific reason they were removed, it was due to member complaints.

I did want to add that my comments were not directed at this site in particular but towards car sites in general; they've all got the same requirement now. It's society that has given up on the free speech, etc, etc.

I realize that all sites function under the "my site, my rules" ruleset. You could decide all posts have to be in limerick form if you got the urge, and nobody could complain about it.

If I walked up to a uniformed, on duty police officer and told him that last week I street raced another car, he couldn't do crap to me for it.

But I love how, if you admit to something, the Police and courts will believe you without question, however, deny doing something, and you're always lying, or guilty untill proven innocent.

The loss of freedom of speech isn't the issue. It's Guilty untill proven innocent thats the issue.

Aside from that,Tides right to rule his web site does not fall under the governance of the US constitution as it's a private entity not a public one.

His site, his rules. Here, the constitution is just another peice of paper.

Well first of all, I think the term "kill" for racing is lame and whomever coined the term must of been a 14 year old wannabe. Sadly, thousands and thousands of adults followed this lead and used the term. It didn't help in the controversey and surely drew WAY more negative attention to the race stories than needed. Having said that, there are several other sites that allow race stories just search around I'm not going to list them all here. But to get your fix on not only stories of racing, but videos of them for free go to: www.streetfire.net
