ammcinnis
Consult the schedule included in the Warranty and Maintenance Guide you received with your Legacy. Mine calls for brake fluid change every 30 months or 30,000 miles. I personally think that's too often in most climates, and my nearest dealer's Service Manager agrees, but that's what Subaru says. N.B. The primary source of brake fluid degradation is its affinity for water absorption from the air. Thus more frequent brake fluid service should be expected in humid climates than in arid climates. There are inexpensive tools available that can actually test the water content of a brake fluid sample, which is a better approach, IMO. Too40gawlf
You're due by the book. Will your brakes fail if you dont? No, of course not. But its good hygiene to get brake fluid done on a regular basis.
securityguy
Should be less than $129 and can be had for under $100 with a coupon. Not a big money item but I agree that every 2-3 years or 30K is a good rule of thumb.
