Guest
So my 08 LGT recently broke. It started but didn't moved, I brought it to Subaru of hudson and they say the turbo is blown and to replace it they are trying to say the cost is 3100 this doesn't seem near where the price should be anything helps. Thanks.
relative4
The problem is not the price of the turbo (most of that price tag if you buy from a dealership) or the price of labor (overpriced at a dealership). The problem is everything that goes with a blown turbo - most importantly, metal fragments in the oil that will destroy the engine once you start driving again. Best bet is take it to a trustworthy, independent Subaru specialist. They will inspect the oil for debris and recommend the best solution for your case. Unfortunately, you may already be out an engine. The dealership doesn't care, they will just overcharge you for a turbo and wait for the turbo and engine to die next month. gkinslow
If you will add your location to your bio someone could possibly recommend a good Subaru specific shop to go to.
