What did you buy your GT for the Holidays?

Recommended Posts

Nothing, it's gotten to much already this year, new gas tank, fuel fill pipe, AEM320 fuel pump in a new housing and a new rear diff, oh yea, new brake calipers last April.

It's time it gives me something.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

I bought a rear view camera and auto dimming mirror with a screen built in.

I find the LGT sedan to be very easy to see out of, but the wing being just below eye level makes it very hard to judge where the back of the car actually is, and how close you are.

This should make parallel parking a bit less stressful.

Power steering rack rebuild stuff.

1x 34113AG05A Valve assembly

2x 34127AG02A Lock washer

2x 34160AG00A Inner tie rod

2x Moog K750049 front end link

2x Moog Moog K750023 rear end link

1x Whiteline KSR207 steering rack bushings

I've also got a new front and rear hub bearing assembly that I might put in. I've been getting a noise lately that reminds me of the hub bearing assembly failing, but I've already replaced 2 of those - passenger rear and driver side front...

And next month I might be getting a new/rebuilt VF52 and retune. Not sure, though, since I've got to keep some money for my vacation in February to Korea.

Where did you get the heads and ho ho ho much?

The guys at Cobb Surgeline here in Portland sent them out to their preferred machine shop, I guess they do lots of high HP exotic headwork for folks in the area so its the only shop they will use even if its just basic vanilla work like mine. I needed new exhaust valves, intakes were fine and just needed some touch up work, new seals, etc etc and they were good to go. From my invoice it looks like this part of the process was about $500 not counting the parts

What brand/s did you get? I've been slow to research this purchase as I don't have a navi screen or a double din. Mirror with a screen sounds ideal. I've read that future DOT regulations will require back up cameras to be retrofitted when not factory installed. By 2020 or some such notion.

Also, I got her a bnib Zero Sports steering wheel. Not that she deserved it. That's really a gift for the driver. She threw a code yesterday while I was finishing shopping that I haven't read yet. Can't wait to open up that present!

It gives you a place for your ass! At least it moves on its free will

Yea, it has gotten me home from VT in bad weather twice in the past month, once in a snow storm and yesterday in the freezing rain.

Ok, I felt bad for it today, so I gave it a oil and filter change.

Then let it pull my 86 F150 from about a 1/8 miles from the house when its battery died because the alternator is shot on the old truck. I'll fix the truck in April when it warms up outside.
