Alexander-
Hello, One of my current OEM springs had a piece broken off. So I am debating on getting some Tein S-Tech or similiar lowering springs to put on the legacy struts instead of getting some used spring to replace the broken one. Any suggestions/recommandations/comments about what springs you people have tried, how well they ride, how much they lower the car and especially are they good for daily driving. If you have pictures with the springs on the car that would be great too! Thanks!
Merc6
How many miles are on your suspension? Lowering springs may just finish off the current struts on the car. 2005 Satin White Pearl Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Unlimited 5EAT (Project Car) 2019 Agate Black Ford Explorer XLT 4WD (DD)

jrho
Really depends on how much lower you want to go. You will most likely need to upgrade your factory struts to either koni yellows or bilsteins. From my research on the site, I personally ordered a set of Swift springs. From what I've read about the Tein S.Techs, they lower the car a decent amount but don't really ride well.
jonnyt88
H&R springs on stock struts. Happy medium of drop and comfort on crap NY roads Stock wheels ---- https://imgur.com/SP9pAPZ Aftermarket 17s with 235/45/17 tires ---- https://imgur.com/tfXcZcB FYI: I recommend doing struts at the same time or you will probably be re-doing the job within a year. MY car had 49k miles when I installed the HRs, and the struts were pretty worn by 94k. They weren't blown yet, but i don't know if they would have lasted another year. The nice thing about doing struts at the same time is if you get top hats and bump stops too you can chill in your living room with a 6-pack and a movie and assemble everything at your leisure. Do 1 a day or all at once.. Either way your car is still drivable. The actual strut swap is pretty simple
Dishwasher
I have H&R springs with Koni Struts, it rides nice, and handles better than stock. Brought to you by Pfizer

jrho
save up a tiny bit more for some coilovers The thing is I can almost guarantee there is not a single entry level coilover ($1000-$1300) that will perform as great as a high quality lowering spring with upgraded performance struts. Sure you get the ability to change the ride height but you'll have a fairly large trade off in terms of ride quality and handling. Most people end up setting a coilover at a certain height and never adjusting it anyways. I've had plenty of entry level coilovers on previous cars and after riding in cars with aftermarket suspension, the only "entry" level coilover I would recommend is KWs. VOC4L
lowering springs and struts are definitely the way to go if you're willing to commit to one ride height.
r.lee89
I have Tein H-Techs and they ride pretty good slighty stiffer than stock and lowers the car about 1 inch than stock. I did end up replacing everything on the car struts/ shocks with KYB and OEM front hats. All in i prob spent about $1000 CAD
KRM
Out of all the cars I've owned and lowered, love my bilstein/swift set up. Perfect for daily driver. Firm and responsive. And I live off some s#itty roads
willg
You can pick up tein h-techs or s-techs for about $180 right now at rally sport direct. I've had s-techs (on a different car) and they lowered the car WAY too much, but I've heard good things about the h-techs.
Merc6
I got s tech but haven't installed them yet. Want to replace them with struts same time.
