M.mikes13
I'm sure this is in here somewhere.... I have a 18Legacy(white) Looking into a winter wheel set-up, good suggestions on tires? Affordable rims that still look good? And any info on cloning the TPMS sensor? Or the best way to approach that?
M.mikes13
I hear good things about Blizzak WS80s. Smarter to go with a smaller rim?
WILLINH
I have separate wheels from tire rack and 4 General altimax artic. They are great and I have no TPMS, I can survive with the light on for a few months. We do get our share of snow in NH. I did put on 17" to save a few bucks, but snows on a subaru you can go almost anywhere.
Pronto
I'm using Brigstone Blizzak WS80. Love these tires! Amazing in the snow and worth the money. I am running 17" rims with my winters vs my OEM 18" rims. In terms of where to get them, I would say shop around online, and check out some tire shops. vtdog
1. Yes, a set of dedicated "snow" will give you more control in the snow 2. A set of "good" all-weather tires (not the crap tires which are sold OEM) will be more than sufficient for 99% of drivers. 3. Do what you want, its your money

OEM size is 17", I was going to get the 16" for winter, and probably have the TPSM put on through tire rack as well. Thoughts? What's the reason for smaller rims during winter? Is it because the tires are normally a little thicker?
