MikkoR
I have a '95 Legacy GX 2.2 4WD Sedan. It is equipped with original IR keyless entry. Does ayone have any information or wiring diagram of it? Mostly I'm interested in two things: 1) Where is the central unit or head unit? 2) Since the fob has only one button, how does it toggle the locks? Does the HU create different pulse for closing and opening? This accessory is very hungry for battery, the fob battery will last only for a couple of months. Therefore I'm planning to replace it with an aftermarket one with radio operation and need some technical data for that. I have some wiring diagrams but there is no information of this equipment. jamesm113
That doesn't look familiar. This site is a good resource for operating several of the keyless entry systems: http://www.cars101.com/subaru/keyless.html
MikkoR
That site wasn't helpful. However, this still looks like an original accessory, the fob has text "Subaru" and the receiver "eye" is well integrated above the rear view mirror. Does'n look like an aftermarket one or an universal system. Assuming this is an original accessory, what is the most likely location for the HU? I don't want to disassemble the whole dashboard and front side interior...
Setnev
I've not seen those in a very long time. Once upon a time, in the early 90's (like 90 or 91), Subaru used those. Yours looks to be missing the protruding key from the fob as this was the "first" keyless entry that Subaru used in their vehicles and the first to be integrated into the key. Unfortunately, we didn't get that style in North America, we got the RF systems in 92-ish??, I think. Subaru was notorious for cramming everything up under the dash on the driver's side. Pulling off the kick panel, and from my experience, you can usually find the module. It's usually labled "Subaru Keyless Module" or "Central Locking Module". Best bet is to track down a factory service manual for your model. The 95 GX was still a first gen in Europe, Australia, and the UK. Unfortunately, I don't have any EUDM or AUDM FSM for that vintage yet. The furthest back I have is for 97 and that uses RF. If you do come across a FSM for that vintage, please reach out to me, I would love to share it with the rest of the community.

My car is looking like this, except it is a sedan. Anyway, there is little help in the internet, so I have to perform some physical investigation under the dash
Setnev
Interesting. What through me off was the GX trim. Those were typically first gen, but i guess the rest of the world got, what we know as the 2nd gen, 1 to 2 years earlier than us.
