SubieSquirrel
Hey all did some searching couldn't find a lot, I have a 2000 legacy L sedan with the automatic now that it's colder outside the tranny isnt so bad but during the summer it had delayed engagement into drive, harsh up shifts, rev up before up shifts, and would bog down a lot... I like the car a lot and would like to make it last a few years so I'd like to know what other Subaru trannys I could swap in (not really trying to do a 5-speed swap) or is a drain and fill of fluid good. Also forgot to mention early summer I added some Rislone to the tranny and it worked great for a while then returned to normal fluid is red and at proper level Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
YeuEmMaiMai
1. change that life time filter and the internal filter, fill with Valvoline synthetic ATF 2. drive about 10 miles and do another drain and fill. repeat one more time. there is an issue with accumulators taking longer to charge up causing delays in 2-3 shift in colder weather that doing the above will cure. the synthetic fluid will clean out the inside of the trans and replacing that external life time filter is a must on 18 year old car
