ssulb
Typically on the Boxer 4 with timing belts, you would replace the timing belt and water pump at 100k-110k miles. How about the Boxer 6? When should you replace or think about replacing? Thanks.
FLlegacy
When you replace the engine, lol. Keep the coolant changed, the oil changed, and the spark plugs fresh and you should never have to worry about it. Generally speaking most people change it out when they change the timing chain guides which are a known issue when oil changes are not followed consistently. There is also the oil leaks at the timing chain cover that can occur, but even then I don't think I would dig farther than resealing the cover. cww516
Maybe valve cover gaskets and spark plug tube seals, if you're already in there for some other reason. Those tend to solidify over time and start weeping oil, or leaking oil into the spark plug tubes. If you're not seeing any oil on the bottom of the block or on the coil pack boots, though, it may be better to just leave well enough alone.
