shikyo
My both FOB stopped working. It started last April after one month vacation. The car was parked un-driven for that period. I changed batteries of the FOB, however, it didn’t make any different. They worked sometime. We told dealer, however, they couldn’t find anything wrong. Since a couple of weeks later they started working, we stopped worrying about it. Six months after, those FOB again stopped working. I don’t think something is wrong with the FOB, however, there is a problem on the car side. I am not mechanical, but I have thought of a weak car battery, although there isn’t any symptom for it. We have it regularly maintained and we haven’t been told about weak battery. The car has been driven about 23,000 km. If i could hear from someone with similar experiences,I would appreciate. cww516
I'm going to move this over to the general 5th-gen forum for you, you'll probably have a better shot at getting technical advice in there than here in the photos forum. That said, if both key fobs stop working at the same time, I'd be looking at the keyless entry module. Chances are it's something like a damaged wire or a loose connector, both of those could give you intermittent issues like you're seeing.
