Jlarivie
Looking for some help with what i believe is a dead mouse in the air vents. In the past i found a mouse nest in my cabin air filter and my wife swore she saw a mouse inside the car. I set some traps in the car for a couple of weeks but never caught anything. Fast forward a few months and monday I’m drive to work with the heat on and a really nasty smell which i assume is a dead mouse being warmed up by the heater which i why i assume it is in the vents somewhere. So over the past 3-4 days i have pulled apart the car as much as i know how to find this dead mouse. Pulled apart the trunk and found mouse droppings. Pulled out the back seat and found a small nest and droppings. Took out the cabin air filter and that was clean and nothing in the blower. I pulled out the engine air filter and found nothing there. Took the cowl off and nothing in there. Stuck a bore scope in the dash vents and the vents under the front bucket seats as far As I could but didn’t see any dead mouse. Any other places i can look or any advice? Thanks
1-3-2-4
hmm.. only when the heat is on? Maybe someplace around near the heater core?
relative4
Yep, in the air box. Or a very common location is on top of the glove box. Had a nasty surprise that way once.
Jlarivie
Where is the heater core? How would i acces it?
Max Capacity
You can pull the blower motor, its easy take about 15 minutes. Remove the panel under the glove box, three bolts and connector and the blower drops out. Look up in there. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. Coldsho
Had mice in the spare tire well and cabin air filter. In my other cars ive had them above the radio. It gets rather warm so it makes sense. They get everywhere.
Jlarivie
Pulled the blower motor and the cabin air filter and found nothing though it seems like the smell is stronger in that area so maybe on top of the radio or somewhere else under the dash.
