diesel4982
I have a 16 legacy 3.6 and am purchasing the sti brembo calipers for the front brakes. I have the wrx rims already that clear the brembos, but am looking for other rims for a winter setup. Do you guys know if any of the other stock subaru rims clear the brembos on this car? Or even other rims in general? Im looking to purchase a used set, in either 17 or 18, depending on prices I find.

Tschagfreebird151
Method wheels would be a nice starting place for a winter set up. They are very popular with the rally enthusiasts they are strong and light. I think they look cool.
diesel4982
I'm just looking for a rim that's strong, that would clear brembo calipers. Thanks for the suggestion.
Da Roo
My previous cars that had brembos all required 18" to clear. Its not a rim by rim basis AFAIK, just a size. Sent from my LG-H871 using Tapatalk
diesel4982
I just looked at the method website and it says their wheels won't clear the sti brakes. Back to the search.

surmiser
My previous cars that had brembos all required 18" to clear. Its not a rim by rim basis AFAIK, just a size. 18" only ensures rotor clearance (14" rotors require 18" wheels), but doesn't necessarily ensure caliper clearance, which varies depending not only on the caliper brand and model, but on the offset and cut (shape of the spokes) of the wheel. As a rule, forged wheels also tend to have more caliper and rotor clearance than cast ones of the same design, because forged wheels are typically stronger and therefore can get away with skinnier spokes, thinner inner wheel walls, etc. For example, my old 18" Prodrive GC-010E wheels had more caliper clearance (more than 5mm) than my current 19" GFG Forged FM-914 wheels (roughly 3mm), despite both being forged wheels, and despite the Prodrives having a less aggressive offset (+43) than my GFGs (+35). @redvenetian on Instagram
