Chulew
I have a ton of daylight around my steering column through the firewall. Can anyone confirm that I'm missing the piece called a 'toe board grommet' called such in the Tilt Steering Column installation instructions if the vacation pix? Since I get the car last year, I always thought there was too much engine noise coming through the firewall and noticed a good 1/2" clearance at least all the way around the column while preparing to replace the clutch. I may just have to rig something up around it if it requires me to take the shaft out to feed it thru.

Chulew
Pic? Will snap one tonight. I thought about it momentarily when I saw it but was preoccupied and then forgot again last night.

relative4
If I'm seeing that correctly, you have the more important rubber bushing, 34361AG000, that mounts the column in the outer wall. I think you're just missing the $3 foam seal, 34371AE000, that goes on the easy-to-reach side of the inner wall. Slapping that on is nothing; you can cut it if it doesn't already have a cut. Chulew
The rubber gasket fell into the engine comparment. Can't get it popped back in, even greased.
Chulew
Got it in. Funny thing is, the play in the steering wheel due to this grommet net me about $500 off the due to my "concerns about safety" when I was first looking at the car as it had been in a wreck.
