Guest
I have a 2008 legacy GT at the moment I have a grimspeed catted down pipe and invidia CBE with cobb stage 2 tune. Trying to find a way to make more power and completely lost. Any suggestions on what to do? Thanks
MilesA
Try and decide roughly what your performance goals are and a budget. You will need a larger turbo and set of supporting mods to go along with it, such as upgraded fuel injectors, fuel pump and intercooler. You will probably need an upgraded clutch. You might need other upgrades or reinforcements depending on power level. You will want to find an experienced tuner to work with you. There are subforums for Turbo Powertrain, Tuning & Engine Builds that should give you some ideas. See if you can find some people on the forum who have been down the same road that interests you. Was thinking about upgrading to a VF52 but very expensive rn.VF52 is stock turbo for the later model WRXs, so you might watch the for sale subforums on NASIOC as well as here for people parting their cars out or swapping parts. If upgrading to a VF52 is too expensive for your budget, I'd advise you to stick at your current setup and keep the car healty Depending the mileage, suspension bits might be a good place to start. awesterner
Before you go to more hardware, consider a pro tune/e-tune. I'm going through the process now after being with Cobb Stage 2 (plus AVO intercooler). Although I'm still going through the process the difference is night and day...especially in throttle response. I'll be going to a V52 in the Spring, but to be honest for a daily driver I'm really digging what my tuner has done so far.
starionesir
Protune will net some more power. OTS maps are generic and not for your specific car and region. Would start there but as already said if a used VF52 is too expensive then stay with your current setup. Only gets more expensive the further you go.
