JDM EJ25 swap and mini build in Canadian 2011 LGT

Recommended Posts

Hey guys

Last week I had my engine go on my 2011 LGT. Wasn't beating on it at the time nor have I beaten on it really since I've owned the car. Could have been a previous owner issue. I've always kept the car well maintained.

The car is currently stage 2.

I have purchased a JDM EJ255 engine that came out of a 2012 Legacy GT from Japan. Maybe the first JDM swap for this year?

Below is what I have coming for the car and some services being done for my "mini build". She should be a lot of fun when it's done!

Dam you gteaser and your quickness.. and he's in Canada.... If Gteaser doesn't grab the turbo, I'd be interested.
Sounds good. 99% keeping the turbo though. Next time I'm around MTL we should get together for a beer and some pictures! In the 3 years owning my FG LGT I've only seen 3 others!

I wouldn't be surprised if our production numbers in Canada are the same or less than the US at 2000.

Let the fun begin! Enjoy. But be wise on the saying - "pay to play".
Agreed. I'm overly focused on upgrading all the parts that keep my setup reliable. New oil pick up, new Sti oil pump (debating on getting it blue printed), fuel and cooling.

I want to make good reliable power.

I can't afford to drop another massive amount of money to rebuild my daily again. We are expecting our first in a few weeks! Baby boy :)

In a couple years I'll invest in a forged bottom end. The financial hit won't be nearly as bad now that my top end is refreshed/mini built lol

Clearly you are meant to stack the manifolds for triple protection. That's how it works. I would know. My father was an EJ.

As for the rest of this build, Dis gon b gud :munch:

Ahhhhh now it makes sense!!!! Haha. So in that case, I'm short a gasket!!

Thanks buddy! It's been fun so far and all I'm doing is collecting parts! She goes in Nov 6. The wait is killing me.

Since I would assume you are using the TGVs you actually do have an extra but the intake gaskets are O-ring type gaskets since the intake is plastic.
