Dodge Charger SRT-8

Recommended Posts

So if I was still in the market for a new car, I would be strongly considering the Charger SRT-8. That thing looks bad ass and has the specs to back it up: 6.1L V8, 425hp, 420 lb ft torque.

*drool*

I think one of these ran at englishtown the last time we were there and it ran like a 14.9??????

Unless it was just the R/T or whatever. But it looked just like that.

I think it might be heavy and slow for all that power. Could be wrong though

That wasn't the SRT8 at Etown, It was the regular Hemi or even the 255HP V6. There was a 300C SRT8 at Island a few weeks ago, was running a 13.1@108ish.

If I had to choose any of those cars it would be the Magnum SRT8.

That's one big-arsed land yacht. And what's with the non-functional hood scoop (SRT-4 wannabe)?

I too am picqued that they made it a four door. But with that much basic design body meat hanging off that thing, I don't think they could have proportioned it well enough to make it into a coupe. Could be wrong, but me thinks it would have looked even more bloated and less sexy.

Oh yeah hahah that hood scoop is non functional, I didn't even realize that! I mean it may throw outside air in the engine bay to cool it off but there is no air box there.

Like the SS camaro actually had a ram air setup there at least. DUMB!

Please... How about all the years Subaru sold cars in the US with non-functional hood scoops?

And it can handle... Toss stiff enough components on a heavy car and will give good numbers. Much better than the Legacy GT in all areas. On the other hand, how it feels doing it might be a bit scary.

2-door is coming, but it will still be too heavy. I think Dodge should make an aluminum version of the motor and use lighter components in the chassis. Get a coupe down to 3500 pounds and toss in a 6-speed manual.

Actually, you should say Throw on a good set of rubber and will give good numbers. Too bad Subaru didn't do the same so that it will be much better than the Legacy GT in all areas.

Give the legacy some rubber and all the dodge has is accel...

Yeah too bad... I was just responding to the person saying it can't do anything but go in a straight line.

And even with better tires, bet the Legacy will have a tough time equaling the stopping distance of the SRT-8. Maybe tie in numbers-wise in terms of handling.

TO get a 4200 pound vehicle to perform that way is impressive.
