AP not connecting to APM - Guidance needed

Perhaps not the best section to post but there's a bunch of knowledge here so I figured why not?

 

 

Trying to solve an error message "Accessport not connected"

 

Laptop sees the AP when plugged in

 

APM responds with a green bar and a message "Loading Accessport information..." when the AP is plugged in

 

AP Manager 2.1.3.4 was just installed on this laptop

 

Tried installing drivers to the AP from the original COBB disc

 

Tried installing drivers to the AP using drivers from APM 2.1.3.4

 

Performed a complete uninstall of the old APM

 

During my efforts to fix this issue, I read somewhere that I might have to update the AP on and older version of Windows, then I can use Win 10...?

My mistake.

Sounds like it's not compatible with the Win 10 laptop I'm trying to use then, eh? Seems true given that I fired up my old XP laptop, installed APM and everything works.
