2018 Legacy

Recommended Posts

Looking to upgrade to the 2018, really like some of the changes plus I am wanting eyesight. I know a few people here have them but haven't seen many pictures, just wondering if you guys could throw some up and show off your new rides. I'm aiming at a 2.5i limited in Ice Silver.

What? August is only weeks ago and NEXT August is 10 months away. What will the 2019 have that's worth the wait? More trim refreshed?

Lol very true, get what you want when you want and enjoy it.

Thanks @Brisvegas...exactly! Some folks can only see as far as tomorrow versus over the horizon...the 2019 should be on the new GLOBAL Platform as will the 2019 Forester and the new Impreza introduced as a 2017 (which I just purchased for my son a month ago). It will be significantly updated and may be well worth waiting for. May not be a simple refresh but a ground up redesign that may still share exterior cues but I would wait unless I really needed a new car now. As @MrCobbs stated...get what you want but the question was asked and I gave my recommendation;)

Ya I am definitely thinking about that new global platform. Patients isn't necessarily my strongest suit. HAHA. Love the slight updates on the '18. Time will tell. I live in winter so I am thinking I will wait until at least spring because winters are not nice to cars with all the beat juice they spray and what not. I keep my cars nice and always wash them and spray off the undercarriage but I don't want to subject a brand new car to that if I can help it. @MrCobbs beautiful ride! Did you add the led license plate lights or did it come that way?

Thanks! I ended up adding in the Philips LED for the trunk and the license plate. Added the Morimoto LED for the door. Just waiting for my turn signals to ship from VLEDS and I will be done.

Do it!! :)

Unfortunately, I'm receiving an error message when uploading a jpg of my ride...despite it being within the file size and width and height dimensions.

What color is your new Legacy? That new blue is intriguing but I don't like the tan interior, I think ice silver and black just has a clean crisp look to it

New blue? I thought the dark blue pearl and twilight blue have been around a while, at least a couple of years? In the US the dark blue comes in ivory but apparently in Canada, black is also an interior option.

I just want to know, on the 3.6R, have they finally gotten around to tuning the transmission to go from 0-60 faster than a 1985 Yugo?

It's been 'revised' but, who knows what the true revisions were.

I have a '17 3.6, and it's not 'that' slow. I do use my paddles fairly often though so that helps. And, I'm now past the 1k miles break-in period which helps. ;)

Hey subiefan15. I have the Crystal Black Silica with Black interior.

No doubt the Ice Silver and Black is a great choice...but having owned a silver-colored car for the past 13+ yrs, the Mrs. wanted a different color and so we went with Black. :)

Interesting, from that angle it kinda looks like the nose of a latest gen Chevy Cobalt or Malibu. Anyhoo, the 18 is definitely tempting for some of the mostly little things but *knocks on wood* my 15 has been close to flawless after some of the initial kinks like the pillar seals and fuel door sticking. It even survived a catastrophic complete blowout of my right rear tire going about 75 mph and the only thing that needed replacing was that one tire. Amazing. Never even felt like I lost control. Anyway... Feel like I owe to drive this baby a little while longer yet- after some visual upgrades I still love the look and the way it drives every single day. I am however very excited to see what the new global platform will bring. It seems like a long wait yes but at the same time these last 3+ years have flown by.

That's nice. I am back and forth between the Magnetite Gray and the Crystal Black. My first Subaru was a 2009 Legacy with Crystal Black / Black Leather. Looked great when it was clean (for an hour...)

Got to check out some 18s up close for the first time at the dealer this past weekend, it's definitely more aggressive looking. The factory option spoiler looks really nice too, they had 2 Sport trim cars on the lot that I checked out. Also the new LED fog lights appear to be identical to those used on the 2018 WRX just with a shroud over them making them appear not-round.

As much as I like the new look I honestly prefer the simpler pre-refresh look. I really don't like the new steering wheel design, my brother's 17 Impreza has it and I'm not a fan of the control layout.

Has anyone with a 2018 3.6R done any 0-60 acceleration tests? That kind of kept popping up on prior reviews and wondered if any of those factory "fine tuning" changes for 2018 made any difference?
