Options to replace IHI VF45 turbo?

Recommended Posts

Vf44 is the same but just as uncommon. Kinugawa have two options that fit.

Considering how much you’d be looking at for a replacement one, even used, you’d be better off picking up a vf37 with STI headers, uppipe and downpipe. And going with that instead. It would definately need a tune but if you can do the work yourself you won’t be much worse off financially and have a muuuch better behaving car.

MY07 JDM LGT. Currently has the VF45 which is as rare as hens teeth. Any other turbos that can be used as a replacement?

Edit: Woops, wrote VH45 in the subject.

No logical reason to do so. They’re not actually all that common down in NZ.

Would mean replacing headers, uppipe, downpipe and intercooler all to end up with worse response than a VF37 setup at a greater cost.
