gjn2495
The battery for my 08 2.5i has had a corrosion problem for a while now, I have cleaned it about 3 times now but always just comes back I live in the northeastern part of Pennsylvania so weather is always changing up throughout the year, has anyone else had any similar problems or at least some advice for a better fix? apexi
I love this stuff, it has worked great for me. I can't remember if I got it at Walmart or a local auto parts store. Max Capacity
A coating of grease works well too. Just make sure you seal all around so moisture stays out. I normally check mine yearly, did it last week, winter is coming. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). MilesA
This is a very old problem, but Subarus seem to have it bad for some reason. Back in the day, they coated the battery terminals with Vaseline. Dielectric grease will work, just need to create a coating to prevent corrosion. The CRC stuff seems like it would be less messy. 59ctd
I think the trick is to completely clean the existing buildup off of the terminals. I use baking soda + warm water in a small plastic cup and an old discard toothbrush to remove the buildup. If needed pull the battery and dunk the battery terminal ends in the cup it until free of all the white crud. Flush with clean water liberally afterwards. Cleaning plus some simple & cheap felt battery terminal protectors has worked for me for quite a while now.
