outahere
I had disconnected the battery, removed the starter motor for maintenance (lubing internal parts), reinstalled the starter, reconnected the battery, turned the ignition key to ON for 10 seconds, then turned the key to OFF. An hour later, I start the car and immediately get a CEL and a flashing cruise light. I pull the codes: P2006: Intake manifold runner control stuck closed (bank 1) P2007: Intake manifold runner control stuck closed (bank 2) P2009: Intake manifold runner control circuit low (bank 1) I would appreciate some advice! MilesA
These codes are likely related to your tumble generators (TGVs). There is one on each head where the intake manifold connects. Each TGV has one sensor and one actuator (aka motor). As a first step, check the wiring and condition of these sensors and actuators.
outahere
I will try the "disconnect and reconnect" of the TGV electrical connectors. A few people here have had success with that. http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/check-engine-light-blink-cruise-cel-p2006-p2007-p2009-help-102138.html?t=102138 http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/quick-tgv-help-88850.html?t=88850 http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/check-engine-68648.html?highlight=P2006+P2007 It's a bit odd that these codes popped up immediately after reinstalling the starter motor and reconnecting the battery. I don't think I disturbed any wiring while working under the car on the starter motor.
MilesA
It does seem odd, but it's possible the TGV issue would have come up independently of the work you did. Might be electrical connections or TGVs sticking. TGVs do not usually get physically damaged unless someone is working in that area, e.g. removing/replacing turbo. outahere
I will try the "disconnect and reconnect" of the TGV electrical connectors. .. Just to update this, I did not do the above. I erased the codes, and have not had a repeat since then, after several dozen drive cycles. I had doubts about the validity of the "TGV closed" codes, because the engine ran fine at high revs.
