pawling11
Hello all (lurker here for about a year), I noticed a torn boot on my CV axle. I plan to reboot it, but I am not to keen on rushing into it (will be my first axle restoration). I do not want to put any essential non-OEM parts in my car, and do not have the cash for a reman axle from SOA. So.. I was looking into other models with compatible front axles. I looked up my VIN on my local dealer's website and got part number 28321XA00D. I looked this part no up on eBay. The search results returned a handful of axles for 06-14 Tribecas. I found a VIN for one of the donor vehicles on eBay and plugged that into the dealer's site as well. I was able to verify that this returned the same part number as the query using the VIN from my LGT. People who have gone this route, what model had your part come from? Was it an exact fit or was it (slightly) different from the original part? The content of the posts I was able to find relating to front axle compatibility between models had been all over the place. Some claim compatibility between all fourth gen legacy's. Some say auto/manual trans is the deciding factor. I remember reading that a lot of LGT parts are bolt on for 2.5i. Would an axle from a spec b fit? I found someone in my area selling a pair on CL. If I remember correctly, the part number for the spec b front CV assy is not the same.. but how is it different?
