Ryan
Looking for a cheap winter wheel to run this winter and STi wheels are too expensive for snow use. I've seen the 5x114 SVX guys use Nissan Murano wheels, and STi guys use Honda CRV steel wheels with hubcentric rings. I was wondering if anyone has run/seen any 6th gens with other OEM manufacturer 5x114 wheels like Honda or Nissan?
Yoda_One
Please look through the Forum Threads especially especially the Stickies. A better place to ask your questions on wheels. Ryan
Oh, did you find my answer in another forum? Because I didn't. This new thread is a topic starter in case anyone else has the same question in the future and the answer isn't buried in hundreds of posts in some sticky thread when they go to search like I did. chowser51
Why not just get the cheapo steel wheels from Tire Rack or Discount Tire? I think they're $80? Unless you have a line on some cheap wheels. I'm still debating doing a winter wheel setup like I have with previous cars but so far our winters haven't been bad. I'm trying to find wheels for 18" snow tires I already have, and as far as I know (just checked) TireRack only goes up to 17" steelies. I figure other manufacturer 18s (like older Maximas or Accords) will be cheaper than buying/shipping new. Discount Tire has some cheap 18s for about $88, so I'm watching for their seasonal promotions too.

I didn't. I explained why I was looking at other manufacturers and presented one of my alternative options in the event other manufacturers were not an option. So far you're putting in far too much effort to be unhelpful. This is my 19th Subaru, and I'm registered on probably 10 Subaru forums dating back to 2001. Da Roo
I think Rowlette's point, although maybe not as nicely put, is that we have a wheel thread stickied and on page #1 you can see what wheel and tire combinations have been verified to fit and whether or not they cause a difference on the speedo. I don't think I've seen much of other 6gens using other makes' wheels. But you already have tires so you know 18s are required, and you know the bolt pattern. That should slim your search down pretty quickly. All you need to figure out is what offsets will or will not work. To be honest every time I see Rowlette comment he is like that and never adds to the discussion. Funny enough he shit on my very first post in these forums so that is a great way to introduce new folks into this community!

chowser51
Maybe it's my job making me old and cynical but I like Rowlette's humor. Ordered some goo gone mist spray to start removing plastidip off my car. Have some sections that had thin coats. Going to take everything off and clay bar the car and prep it for winter. Not sure if I will redip. The front grill has been dipped the longest and still looks good. Also rarely used the WellVisors at all this year. Might take those off too. I might order steel 17 wheels for winter and dip them in some weird color.
ammcinnis
... Rowlette ... shit on my very first post in these forums ... Rowlette has been more generous with some of your posts than I would have been ... had I considered them worth the trouble of any response at all. If you want to be taken seriously, a more mature posting style might help. Ryan
Discount Tire just sent out their labor day promotion. $100 off a set of wheels. So their $88 wheels just became $63 each. (or $48 if you have a DTD credit card) I think I found my winter wheels - just have to decide on silver or black...
