FrankNature
If I change the plugs and the coil pack, would it be stupid to replace the wires while I'm at it ? Also what are the recommended spark plugs I should go with?

MilesA
Standard spark plugs are NGK FR5AP-11 Platinum. Spark plug gap is set between 1.0 - 1.1 mm (0.039 - 0.043 in). Should you change the spark plug wires? Sometimes, it's better to change just one thing at a time so if there are problems they are easier to diagnose. You can change the spark plug wires later on if you want. It's not a bad idea to change them as preventative maintenance, but not strictly necessary unless they are bad. if you have a multi-meter you can test them. If you change the spark plug wires, either the Subaru OEM or the NGK blue ones seem to work best.
