jmanzs
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced a squeeky clutch pedal? I have about 12000 miles on it and I am starting to be able to feel a vibration and heard a little squeek everytime I push it down. If anyone else has experienced this tell me how did you fix it? MUD
I have a little squeek every now & then. Down when the pedal is almost to the floor is where it squeeks. I haven't addressed it yet. I'm thinking some W-D40 would hook it up. If not... then some high temp grease! I don't have the vibration though. mbacis
I have the squeek, no vibration. Started at around ~7500mi. I'm now at ~8500mi, haven't done anything about it yet, but it's very annoying.
Beanboy
Squeak, no vibration. Mentioned it at 600 miles to the dealer, they couldn't do anything about it. Bah! Dealers... -B -B http://www.standardshift.com
starlabs
I have had the squeek since about 1400 miles (now at 3100 or so). Pretty damn annoying. Tried spraying some parts with WD40 but that hasn't helped much so far. I don't have a vibration, but there is a different clutch pedal feel though - it's hard to describe but it's definitely not a smooth feeling when pressing/depressing the clutch. It was initially smooth when I first got the car. -=- Livin life at 140 BPM -=-
jmanzs
ya its not so much a vibration i just didnt know how to explain it, it just has a diffrent feel to it. I cant really explain it its kind of like if it where rubbing on something
MUD
^^Yep.... there you go. I have that too! If I DO in fact decide to take it to the dealer.... there'll be no run-around... unless they'd like to deal with the lawyers! I spent enough time in the past getting the shaft from dealers. It shall happen no more! It is the disposition of men to desire that which he cannot have, hence my un-quenchable wet desire for Shakira!
ShockerGT
My clutch pedal squeeks too. Started around 300 or 400 miles and from what I've read on these forums, its a pretty common thing. I also have a different feeling in the clutch, but my Mustang had it too, so I don't know if it is typical or not.
Fast Wagon
It took 3 trips to 2 different dealers to get that squeek fixed. I have no squeek now. Its been squeek free for 5 months. They did put a lot of lube on the return spring. Car smelled for several days with whatever they put on it, but it worked.

TSiWRX
This (the squeak) is a common issue on what seems to be a good percentage of LGTs here on LGT.com. Have a search, and you'll see that the squeak is discussed frequently. In at least three or four cases, the clutch interlock seems to have been traced-down as a potential cause of the issue.... http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20287&highlight=interlock+squeak http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16343&page=1&pp=15&highlight=interlock+squeak - posts number 15, 16, 21 (resolution to 15) and 24 (repeat of previous cited thread) Others have cited variously replaced clutch/pedal assemblies as the final cure. My squeaks truly seem to be weather-related, in good portion. To be honest, mine isn't severe enough for me to notice, mostly, so I just wind up ignoring it. <-- I love Winky, my "periwinkle" (ABP) LGT! - Allen / Usual Suspect "DumboRAT" / One of the Three Stooges '16 Outback, '16 WRX, 7th Subaru Family

psucaptainkickass
I have the squeak. I also have a slight vibration, like you said, it really isn't vibrating...just a different feel, its hard to explain. Anyways, I took it to the dealer, forgot to ask about the clutch...I usually have music playing so I never really hear it. The dealer couldn't reproduce the vibration problem. Honestly, its touch and go for me, sometimes I will notice it a lot, other times I won't. I am not to concerned. If it becomes reproducable consistently then there is a major problem. If not...meh.. starlabs
^ Guess that's +4 on the vibration/rubbing sensation on clutch depress I'm not surprised the dealer couldn't "reproduce" the problem. It's one of those things where it's subtle and you wouldn't notice it UNLESS you drove that car everyday. -=- Livin life at 140 BPM -=-

papp101
Sorry to dig up this old thread, but I'm also having this on my clutch pedal and brake pedal. Any ideas for rebuilding or replacing those bushings or whatever the hell is down there?
RedDawg
i just got the squeak about a month ago, i climbed under there and spread some lithium grease around all the bolt/hinges/springs for the clutch pedal but it had no effect. whatever is squeaking must be an internal piece. sleepermaxima
got that on mine too. A squeak from the clutch pedal assy. and a creak from the somewhere south of the slave cylinder.

Strizzy
I have it too (since 4800 miles), but I only notice it when the car is off and I press the clutch. Otherwise, the sound of my BOV between shifts makes the squeak unnoticeable. My bad luck build
BrooklynBoy
Mine has had the squeak since 2000 miles ( at 48000 now ). This thread was started two years before my car was "born"......why aren't you listening Subaru?!! Do it right the first time.........or don't bother doing it at all.
